Congratulations to the BYU Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) students Ian MacGregor, Sam Runyan, and Josh Ogden for their 1st place finish at the Mountain District Student Traffic Bowl. The team was successful in edging out the University of Idaho in the final round held in St. George, UT on June 22, 2023, as part of the ITE Mountain District meeting. The other schools in the competition included Montana State University, the University of Nevada Reno, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona. Ian, Sam, Josh, and Matthew Davis will represent BYU and the Mountain District at the Grand Championship Traffic Bowl to be held during the ITE International Annual Meeting in Portland, OR in August. Congratulations to the team for their hard work and dedication to the BYU ITE Student Chapter!

BYU's Steel Bridge Team went to Reno to participate in the Student Steel Bridge Competition in April.

EERI's Annual Undergraduate Seismic Design Competition (SDC) is a longstanding tradition at EERI's Annual Meetings and National Conferences. The competition provides civil engineering undergraduate students with an opportunity to work on a hands-on earthquake engineering project to design and construct a cost-effective frame building to resist seismic loading. BYU competed against dozens of schools across the country in San Francisco, CA.
